Fishy.... with bit of booze from Angus at Demijohn

One of our recent menus......just to prove that you don't need a supermarket to make super food.

Almost all of the packaging was paper, and all of the stallholders travel no more than 30 miles to bring wonderful fresh produce to their customers.....

THINK MARKET....SHOP LOCAL!!!!

ALL of the ingredients apart from the booze were bought from Hovingham Market, a tiny but perfectly formed monthly farmers market in North Yorkshire

Scallops on a Romanesque cauliflower puree with an elderflower vodka creme and black pudding crisps

Dover sole served off the bone on a bed of swiss chard with a fondant seasonal vegetables and a goosberry gin beurre blanc sauce

Cherry tart with a hint of bramble whisky and vanilla creme anglaise...

All of the liquers we have used in this menu are from Angus at our favourite deli...... Demijohn....it's a liquid deli specialising in liquers, vinegars and oils

Recipes available....more soon

Welcome to Fresh.....Fresh Food.....Fresh Ideas

Hi and welcome to Fresh

Our focus at Fresh is encouraging people to use fresh, locally reared and grown food , with an emphasis on cooking with ingredients which are in season, using local markets, butchers and greengrocers, farm shops....etc, thus avoiding the need for excessive packaging and food miles and building our local economies.

I have not long returned to the moors from cooking in the demonstration kitchen at the York Festival of Food and Drink, where I had the privelige of working alongside some of the region's most talented and commited farmers and food and drink producers.

If you love to shop at the supermarket please stay with us, bookmark us and we will hopefully persuade you of the benefits to you and your family of shopping locally.
